ATV - All Terrain Vehicle Safety

ATV mudWhether an all terrain vehicle (ATV) is used in an industrial (workplace) environment or for recreational purposes, safe-riding practices must be followed.

Four factors that must be taken into account when operating

an ATV are:

              • Personal ability of the rider
              • Planned task or job
              • Size and capability of the ATV
              • And the environmental and terrain conditions under which the operation will take place

The All Terrain Vehicle Rider Course is a one-day program designed to train the operator in the safe and efficient use of an all terrain vehicle. The course includes both classroom and practical training, with the greatest emphasis on operational skills. The following are some of the topics covered:

  • Safe riding practices and strategies
  • Quick stops and swerving
  • Pre-ride inspections
  • Riding over obstacles
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Traversing hills
  • Turning basics
    • sharp turns
    • quick turns

Please bring your quad, boots, helmet, gloves and eye protection. If you cannot bring your own quad, advise us when you register.  Rentals can be arranged through our office and brought to the class site for you!

Obstacle Course & Trail Ride
